Synopsis

After an unexpected and tragic event, Bruce is forced to face the inevitable questions we spend our lives avoiding.

Robert Machoian:

Born in the small town of King City, California, and raised up in the Do-It-Yourself punk rock culture, Robert has been making films over the past four years, by any means possible. His second short film, CHARLIE AND THE RABBIT, made with Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010 and traveled the festival circuit playing in over thirty festivals. Three years later, he returned to Sundance 2013 with two short films, which are now traveling the festival circuit. He has finished his first feature FORTY YEARS FORM YESTERDAY that he made with Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck that will premier this summer on the festival circuit.

Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck

Born in Davis, California, Rod grew up under the influence of underground Hip Hop, building itself on grit and passion. For the past four years he has been making short and experimental films. His second short film, CHARLIE AND THE RABBIT, made with Robert Machoian, went on to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2010 and traveled the festival circuit to play in over thirty film festivals. Recently, Rodrigo graduated from the Studio Art MFA program at California State Berkeley, were he won numerous awards for his work. He has currently finished his first feature FORTY YEARS FROM YESTERDAY which he made with Robert Machoian that will premiere this summer on the festival circuit.

Collaberation:

Together Robert Machoian and Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck have been working together over the past four years, and in that time have produced over eighty films ranging from short narrative, short documentary, and short experimental. Much of the work has gone on to play major film festivals around the world, such as BFI London, Mill Valley Film Festival, Sarasota Film Festival, Copenhagen Film Festival and many more. Other films such as their documentary web series American Nobodies has been recognized for it’s excellence, and inventiveness, by such organizations as Film Independent, and Filmmakers Magazine. In 2010 Robert Machoian and Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck were recognized as the by Filmmaker Magazine, in their “Top 25 Independent Filmmakers”. In 2012 Robert and Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck were introduced to Producers Ryan Watt and Nick Case, noted producers of Independent Cinema and by that summer were making their first feature film, with it’s festival premier soon to be announced. Having found an amazing collaboration amongst the four filmmakers, they are now in preproduction on their next feature THE LATCHKEY KIDS.
